Favorite Things
I love the Sound Of Music. It’s one of those movies I have to watch if it’s on. I think it was the first movie I ever saw on the big screen, but I can’t remember for sure. All I know is it has a special place in my heart.
Sydney and I recently watched it – again! – and as we sang along with our beloved Maria, I found myself thinking, “What are my favorite things?”
Now, these won’t rhyme, and they’re in no particular order, but here they are:
- Spring.
- Cathedral Rock in Sedona, AZ. Peace and serenity live there.
- Watching children grow.
- Modern Family. Always a good laugh.
- Smiles. Mine and others.
- Chocolate. Milk, not dark. Though I’ll settle for dark in a pinch.
- Coffee. Starbucks specifically.
- The ocean, day or night, rough or smooth.
- The way light beams through clouds and trees.
- Being the first one up in the house.
- Lighthouses.
- Finding a good deal. Which has to be better than 50% off regular retail.
- Snot bubbles. Especially if I caused it.
And what’s amazing is that jewelry didn’t even make the list! What is wrong with me today?

Starbucks…skinny green tea latte
And last but certainly not least, a fabulous pair of high heels
